The singer continued to tour in New York, and she began to hang around the Murder Inc. studios hoping to get a break. Ashanti was originally featured in the song of Big Pun's How We Roll as a backing singer. Ashanti was also on Fat Joe's single What's Luv? Also, she appeared on Fat Joe's What's Lulv? The debut single Foolish features a sample taken from the song by DeBarge called Stay With Me. Ashanti made her debut album, titled "Ashanti" in 2002 under Irv Getti's Murder Inc. Record Label. The Declaration is Ashanti's fourth studio album. It was released on Murder Inc. on June 3, 2008. Hey Baby was released for radio and on digital platforms on the 16th of October, 2009.
